MANIFESTO
EDUCATION 1. INTRODUCING STUDY AND RESEARCH IN CONSCIOUSNESS INTO EDUCATION The goal of the Natural Law Party's policy for education is to give complete knowledge to everyone. As consciousness is the most basic element in Nature, the study of consciousness and research in consciousness will be introduced into all levels of education. This training, which has been missing from education, will unfold the full creative potential of all students, bringing them out of problems and mistakes, into harmony with Natural Law. With this training, students will naturally think, speak and act in a way that is always life-supporting for themselves and others.
Students who practised Transcendental Meditation showed longitudinal increases in intelligence when compared to non-meditating controls. Dissertation Abstracts International, 38, 7-B (1978): 3372-3373; Personality and Individual Differences, 12 (1991): 1105-1116. a mistake-free, stress-free life, with thought and action spontaneously in accord with Natural Law, and the ability to achieve anything For students, the study and experience of consciousness can easily be added as the first period of study each day. The Natural Law Party will introduce the Transcendental Meditation programme (which is the most comprehensively researched and systematic programme available for the growth of consciousness) in the school or college curriculum. As a result, students will be able to make fullest use of all other knowledge they gain. With increasing receptivity, alertness, creative intelligence, and energy, they will enjoy continuously expanding achievements. This approach to education, which integrates objectively gained knowledge with subjective technologies for developing the full creative potential of consciousness, delivers to every student the fruit of all knowledge - a mistake-free, stress-free life, with the ability to know anything, do anything, and achieve anything in a way that always nourishes life. With the unfolding of their inner genius and increasing mastery over Natural Law, students will no longer be frustrated with their inability to achieve, but will be motivated for higher education and higher accomplishments on the basis of increasing success. This knowledge of the science and technology of consciousness will bring fulfilment to the existing system of education without disrupting the present structure in any way.
These programmes are critically needed in Britain, where many secondary school leavers are ill-equipped, even in basic skills, to meet the demands of the work force; where too many students turn to substance abuse and experience frustration from lack of progress and success; and where the poorly educated secondary school leavers are the most likely to be unemployed. Futhermore, by having groups of students practising the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme in schools, colleges, and universities around the country, a valuable contribution will be made to creating coherence and integration in the national consciousness.
High levels of EEG coherence measured during the practice of Transcendental Meditation are significantly correlated with improvements in physiological and psychological functioning. International Journal of Neuroscience, 13 (1981): 211-217; Experimental Neurology, 79 (1983): 77-86.
