UK manifesto: Health: Amending legislation in favour of health

The present medical system uses pharmaceutical and other treatments which have damaging effects on the health of the people and ultimately weaken the economy. Despite its serious inadequacies, this system is enshrined in health legislation. Doctors are trained to use this system almost exclusively.

The government's sponsorship of the growth and profitability of the pharmaceutical and other medical industries inevitably supports the promotion of the current medical system. At the same time, safe and effective non-pharmacological methods of treatment and prevention are receiving inadequate support.

This situation clearly conflicts with the government's responsibility to provide health care which is safe and effective.

A disease-free society can never be created through a system of medicine that creates poisonous side-effects and more diseases

The Natural Law Party government will amend legislation in favour of health, endorsing natural and safe methods of prevention and cure, and reversing the anomalous situation where the people are paying taxes to the government in return for health care which has serious detrimental effects on health.

We will promote good health through Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health and through whatever methods are safe and scientifically supported.

The Natural Law Party is not opposed to industry making profits. However, we will never sacrifice the health of the people for the sake of economic gain. Rather our health policies will help to strengthen the economy by promoting the health of the whole population, on which the economy depends.
