UK manifesto: Health: GM foods

The Natural Law Party will encourage farming that is pollution-free and sustainable, and it will promote production of natural, healthy, nutritious food which is free from toxic substances. Currently genetically engineered foods are being introduced without adequate testing and present a serious and unquantifiable threat to human health. We will prevent the growth and sale of these foods until they have been shown to be unquestionably safe (please refer to section on - Genetically Modified Foods).

Campaign to ban genetically engineered food

Because of the grave danger for health and the environment, we support a total ban on the introduction of genetically modified food, and a moratorium on the release of genetically modified organisms into the environment.

The Natural Law Party will also promote:

Health education advertising campaigns on healthy diet, including in the national media,
Health education in schools on good nutritious diet, supported by more nutritious school meals and subsidies for nutritious and healthy foods (e.g. fruit, milk)
