EUROPEAN MANIFESTO
1999
EU BUDGET Resolving the EU budget crisis through increased efficiency and self-sufficiency The enormous savings from the implementation of Natural Law programmes in the EU will lead to a dramatic reduction of over two thirds in the EU budget over a seven-year period. These savings will be derived mainly from the elimination of agricultural subsidies, the reallocation of structural funds, and the simplification of administration. There will be additional savings wherever Natural Law Party policies are applied on a national level in any member state leading to substantial reductions in crime, sickness, economic failure, and other problems. These savings will be at least £945 billion a year within four years, and will facilitate the Natural Law Party's stated objective of phasing out vat and cutting total taxation dramatically in all member states. Of course, there will be costs involved in the implementation of Natural Law programmes but these will easily be covered by the existing allocation of funds in each specific area. For example, the establishment and maintenance of the coherence-creating groups of 7000 people in Europe and on each continent (see section on Unity and Sovereignty) can be financed out of existing funds allocated to development aid, and will in fact be the most fundamental contribution to sustainable development and peace in the world. The great savings resulting from the implementation of Natural Law programmes, combined with the partys low-tax policy, will also help to resolve the current debate about tax harmonisation in EU countries.
