EUROPEAN MANIFESTO
1999
EU ENLARGEMENT Natural Law programmes are the only basis for successful EU enlargement In the acceptance of new member states there must be two prerequisites. One is that the European Union is harmonious, prosperous and integrated within itself, and the other is that the new member has risen to an adequate level with a coherent, integrated national consciousness and the full support of Natural Law.
Therefore the Natural Law Party proposes that Natural Law programmes should be implemented not only within each member state but also in applicant states. These scientifically validated programmes will enliven the support of Natural Law for each country, bringing economic growth and stability, strengthened national integrity, reduced crime, and improved health, education and national security. They will support national sovereignty and self-sufficiency at the same time as supporting harmonious relations between nations on matters of common interest. Only on the basis of developing these qualities can new countries join the EU without any danger of weakening the integrity and economic stability of the existing EU member states. In order to facilitate this approach, a special Quality of Life index will be developed to assess progress both within the EU and in applicant states. The index will include a wide variety of measures, such as crime rates, sickness levels, pollution, economic stability and growth, the simplicity of administration, reduction of taxes, naturalness of agriculture, and signs of growing cultural integrity and improvements to the environment. Europe is a beautiful mosaic of cultures, languages, races and values. If the national consciousness of each country is brought into alliance with Natural Law through the programmes of the Natural Law Party, then integration will proceed naturally and without struggle, while sovereignty is fully maintained.
