Over 500 leaders of the Natural Law Parties of 50 countries have gathered in Brussels from 26 to 30 July for the 3rd International Convention of Natural Law Parties. Today during a news conference, the party leaders read out the resolution agreed by the Convention, and announced that a new international organization to create world peace will be established tomorrow.

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the world-renowned exponent of the complete knowledge of Natural Law who has inspired the foundation of the Natural Law Party, addressed the news conference by direct video link.

Key resolutions of the Convention

Convention chairman Dr Reinhard Borowitz, Secretary General of the Maharishi European Council of Natural Law Parties, said: "Our Convention has resolved to establish on every continent a group of 7,000 experts in Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying. For Europe the group will be established in Brussels, or possibly in Holland, in order to maintain a high level of coherence and harmony in the continent by neutralizing stress and tension in collective consciousness. Otherwise the European Union, which was founded to prevent problems and conflicts between the different countries of Europe, is itself becoming a major source of new problems."

"Extensive scientific research on groups of Yogic Flyers has shown that negative trends are reduced and positive trends are strengthened throughout the whole society, and government automatically becomes more positive and life-supporting," Dr Borowitz said.

During the news conference, 30 representatives of the various countries at the Convention gave a demonstration of the coherence-creating technique of Yogic Flying which creates maximum coherence in brain functioning and bubbling bliss.

Packages of knowledge for every political leader

Conference participants also resolved to approach the leaders of both ruling and opposition parties in their countries to offer them assistance in implementing Natural Law programmes to solve problems in each area of society. "We do not mind who implements our programmes. We are not for power, but for the nation," Dr Borowitz said.

New organization to create world peace

Dr Bevan Morris, leader of the Natural Law Party of Australia, explained that the success of the Natural Law Party Convention, and the success of a world peace conference with 500 Yogic Flyers taking place simultaneously in Bonn, has inspired a new initiative to establish immediately a new international organization that will create world peace."

The inauguration will take place tomorrow, 30 July, full moon day, at Maharishi University of Management in Vlodrop, Holland, in the presence of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. 2,000 people will attend the inauguration, including Vedic scholars, scientists, parliamentarians, leaders of society, representatives of the world media, and all of the delegates to the conferences in Brussels and Bonn, both of which conclude tomorrow.

"This new organization is not a political party, but an initiative from the people of the world," said Dr Morris. "We no longer want to talk about world peace any more. From now on we are going to create it. During the inauguration we will appoint the leaders responsible for the initiative in every country."

The principal task of the new organization will be to establish groups of Yogic Flyers in every country, and a group of 7,000 Yogic Flyers on each continent.

Inspiring achievements presented at Convention

During the past three days the Convention has heard inspiring reports of rapid progress for the Natural Law Party all over the world, including in the USA, where the party will be on the ballot in 49 of the 50 states and has become the major third party challenging the Democrats and Republicans in November's presidential, congressional and state elections.

Campaign to ban genetically engineered foods

One of the topics discussed at the Convention was the Party's high-profile, worldwide campaign to ban genetically engineered foods because of the enormous and so far unpublicised risks for human health and the environment. These foods are now being introduced, usually unlabelled, into shops and supermarkets throughout Europe, the USA and elsewhere.

Award-winning US geneticist Dr John Fagan, who is famous for taking an ethical stand against genetic engineering and returning $600,000 of US government research grants, said: "There are literally thousands of genetically engineered products poised to enter the market over the next few years. Millions of people are becoming the unwitting guinea-pigs of a global experiment. The effects of eating these foods are unknown and are completely unpredictable. Pre-market testing is inadequate and cannot eliminate all possible dangers. Moreover, these foods are not even necessary; the reasons for developing them are commercial, not nutritional. We need a ban on these products until it can be proved they are completely safe – and that can never be done. At the very least they should be clearly labelled, so that people can choose whether to eat them or not."

Five essentials for successful government

During the Convention, Dr Morris described five key elements, which are missing from government today, to bring the support of Natural Law to the individual and society:

*Development of consciousness, through Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme;

*Self pulse reading – part of Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health – which allows every individual to assess the level of balance or imbalance in the physiology and then correct any imbalance through adjustment to diet and daily routine before disease arises;

*Maintaining the collective health of the nation, through large groups of experts in Yogic Flying, an advanced programme of Transcendental Meditation;

*Handling the cosmic counterparts in the physiology of the individual and the nation, in order to offset any unfavourable effect from planetary influences;

*Ensuring proper orientation of government buildings and offices, and entrances to the country, to make sure these are not hampering the good fortune of the population.

Ensuring good fortune for the country

Dr Morris said: "This gives a glimpse of the profundity and uniqueness of the Natural Law Party's formula for bringing the full support of Natural Law to the country. Support of Natural Law means good fortune, everything favourable for unrestricted progress and smooth success. These elements have always been considered to be beyond the control of governments. Only the Natural Law Party has the policies to safeguard the good fortune of the nation."

Time for a transformation of knowledge

The Convention was attended by scientists both from the modern tradition and that of ancient Vedic Science. Modern science deals with the physical world as co-ordinated by the laws of nature, whereas Vedic Science deals with consciousness and includes both objective and subjective approaches to gaining knowledge.

Dr Morris highlighted the hazards of the fragmented approach of modern science, which is leading to innumerable harmful side-effects in medicine, agriculture, the environment, and all areas of modern life.

"It is time for a transformation of knowledge itself," he said. "It is not just that the modern scientific approach is incomplete, but it has been enshrined in law in each country. This occurred before the damage and dangers became evident, and yet that law now defends this approach, even against better alternatives. Natural Law Party programmes are based on the complete holistic knowledge of Natural Law," Dr Morris said.

The press will be the first beneficiary of Natural Law Party policies

Dr Borowitz pointed out the special benefit the news media will gain from the policies of the Natural Law Party. "Through our programmes the people will no longer make mistakes nor be the victims of powerful interests that create trouble for them. Society will be peaceful and happy, and the media will no longer have to report on problems all the time. Journalists will be able to cover good news because bad things will simply not happen any more.

"The press will be the first beneficiary of the improved quality of life that the Natural Law Party is going to produce," he concluded.

Large heap of hazards of modern medicine

Dr Morris showed a large "heap of hazards of modern medicine" – a collection of scientific articles and studies from leading medical journals documenting the harmful side-effects of modern medicine. He said: "Each year thousands of people die from these side-effects. At the basis of this situation is incomplete knowledge of Natural Law. When the scientific journals themselves begin documenting the hazards of the scientific approach, then we know that something more holistic, less fragmented, is needed. The same is true in all areas of modern science, for example agriculture, where the continuous violation of Natural Law through the application of incomplete scientific knowledge has given rise to poisonous foods and new diseases.
