Natural Law Party leaders today declared the defence policy of every country in the world to be "a laughing stock", and laid out completely new Vedic principles of defence to make every nation invincible.

Commenting on the preoccupation with the issue of nuclear proliferation by the leaders of the G8 group of leading industrialised nations at their summit in Birmingham this weekend, Dr Reinhard Borowitz, leader of the Natural Law Party of Germany, said: "The approach to defence being discussed by these countries is full of ignorance. It is like children playing about. It is a defence strategy based only on the ability to destroy, and as such it is very damaging to every country. America's sanctions on India are like a big brother in the children's community: 'Let me dominate you, but I won't allow you to dominate yourself or others. You should depend on me, otherwise I will keep you under my thumb.'

"The whole theme of politics is a game of ignorant people who don't know how to protect themselves or others. They know only how to destroy themselves and how to destroy others."

Administration of Natural Law

Dr Borowitz said that the programme of the Natural Law Party is to bring the "administration of Natural Law" to every country - to enliven for every government the support of the energy and intelligence that governs the ever-expanding universe without a problem. "For this to be achieved the collective consciousness of every country should be integrated. If national consciousness is integrated the government will be integrated and enjoy the support of the evolutionary, nourishing power of Natural Law."

In 63 countries the Natural Law Party is now actively promoting this theme of bringing the administrative skill of Natural Law into the field of national administration. "The same power should come into the field of defence, which is also a responsibility of government," Dr Borowitz said.

Avert the danger before it arises

"The purpose of defence is that no enemy should ever be born. In the current situation, countries are trying to show greater power in order to prevent others from raising a finger against them through the fear of being destroyed themselves. But this is a very destructive theme of defence. It is not good for any nation because if one invokes the power to kill others that same power will be used against oneself. The present show of nuclear strength comes only from stupidity, from ignorance of knowing how to defend oneself.

"The Vedic principle of defence promoted by the Natural Law Party," Dr Borowitz continued, "is 'heyam dukham anagatam', which means to avert the danger before it arises and stop the very birth of an enemy. This is achieved by nourishing the enemy so that his enmity evaporates."

Child's play

Taking further the discussion of defence policy, Dr Borowitz said at the press briefing: "Nobody should actually know what the defence programmes of a country are. Leaders should be able to maintain complete secrecy about defence. But what is happening in today's world is a laughing stock. Countries buy arms from other countries feeling that they can defend themselves; but how can you protect yourself from invasion or an outside enemy when your means of defence have come from outside. The whole thing is just child's play."

Vedic technology of consciousness

In his role as Secretary General of the Maharishi International Council of Natural Law Parties, Dr Borowitz represents the interests of millions of supporters of the national Natural Law Parties in countries on all continents. Representatives of the parties have gathered in Birmingham during the G8 summit in order to lobby delegates and the media with their unique scientifically validated solutions to world problems.

At today's press briefing, Dr Geoffrey Clements, a physicist and leader of the Natural Law Party of the United Kingdom, explained that an enemy grows in enmity and is prepared to destroy only because he is under great stress and can think only of killing others and being killed himself. "This stress is an extreme result of the continual violation of Natural Law by the whole population," Dr Clements said.

Demonstration of Vedic technology of consciousness

The Natural Law Party news briefing in Birmingham included a demonstration of the Vedic technology of consciousness to bring life spontaneously in accord with Natural Law - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying. Yogic Flyers from several countries practised the technique in which the body effortlessly rises up off the ground and moves forward in a series of hops. Talking about their inner experience of the technique, the Yogic Flyers described a sensation of "bubbling bliss".

Dr Clements explained that EEG studies have found maximum coherence and integration in the brain wave patterns during Yogic Flying. Furthermore, over 40 sociological studies have found decreased negative trends in society in the vicinity of groups of Yogic Flyers practising the technique together. The studies, which have been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, have established incontrovertibly that when the square root of one per cent of the population practise this technique together it leads to decreased crime, conflict and problems throughout society and significantly improved social and economic trends. Applying this formula to the world's population, a permanent group of only 10,000 Yogic Flyers would create a positive transformation in the whole world.

Vedic programme of defence

"This remarkable discovery is understandable in terms of a 'field effect' produced on the level of human consciousness by the group of Yogic Flyers," Dr Clements said. "This is a phenomenon that can only clearly be understood in terms of a coherence effect radiating throughout society on a level much finer than that of electronic or nuclear fields. Human consciousness in its most settled, self-referral state experienced during Yogic Flying has the same qualities as the Unified Field of Natural Law known to modern quantum physics. On this level all negative influences in the environment can be instantaneously neutralised.

"This is the Vedic programme of defence promoted by the Natural Law Party. It is found in the ancient Vedic literature, the Ramayana and Mahabharata, where very great weapons are described which nobody can identify because they are from the field of consciousness. Nuclear weapons and electronic weapons do not have anywhere near the power of the weapons of consciousness. Through this deepest of technologies, the programmes of the Natural Law Party will give true invincibility to every country - not through the ability to destroy but through the ability to nourish and be a friend to all."

The only hope for the world

"The Natural Law Party is the only hope for the world, for survival, for progress for defence or anything," Dr Clements said. "Taking recourse to administration through Natural Law is the only valid principle that has developed after millennia of defence policy dominated by destruction. All of today's talk of nuclear tests and nuclear weapons unnecessarily excites the people, and wars are the result of excitement, of stress and strain. This show of power is the show of the ability to kill and die. It is a crime against life."

"This is why we want the rule of Natural Law in every country. Quietly every country will be invincible when the Natural Law Party comes to power. Other parties are just like children playing," Dr Clements said.
