On 10 June 1998, "Maharishi Veda Vision – The Maharishi Channel" – was inaugurated in a television broadcast to 57 countries. Maharishi Veda Vision is a new television channel that broadcasts every day throughout Asia and soon to every country around the world. The Maharishi Channel will bring the eternal wisdom of the Veda to every home. During the inaugural ceremony, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi expressed the great need for Vedic Knowledge, the complete knowledge of Natural Law, to be made available to every citizen through Maharishi Veda Vision and the education system in every country.

Maharishi Veda Vision will radiate the supreme wisdom of Maharishi's Vedic Science every day from 7.05 to 10.00 PM Indian Standard Time. In addition to India – the Land of the Veda – the countries that will be able to receive the broadcast include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. The broadcast can be received every day on PanAmSat 4, transponder 7 C, analog frequency, 3932 MHz, horizontal polarisation.

Invincible India

Maharishi emphasised during the inaugural broadcast the great need for India to become invincible. He said: "Every nation on earth can become invincible if the national consciousness becomes fully integrated. This will harmonise and unify all the diverse values of life and all the different interests of the individuals in society. By raising collective consciousness to a fully integrated state the nation will surround itself with Rashtriya Kavach - a shield that will protect the nation from any harm coming from outside. This Vedic Defence Technology will prevent the birth of an enemy - Heyam Duhkham Anagatam. Only by bringing national consciousness into alliance with Natural Law, and thereby making it fully integrated, can each nation enjoy true invincibility and create a problem-free administration where every citizen will enjoy life in perfect health, happiness, and abundance – Heaven on Earth."

During the three-hour inaugural broadcast Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi's Global Administration through Natural Law, summarised the important role Maharishi Veda Vision will play in creating Heaven on Earth in every nation. Dr Tony Nader, MD, PhD, International President of Maharishi Ayur-Veda Universities, explained in his speech that the individual is truly cosmic - all aspects of the Veda and the Vedic Literature have been located in the structure of the human physiology. Dr Volker Schanbacher, Professor of Physics at Maharishi Vedic University, emphasised that nations should no longer rely on a defence technology based on destruction, such as nuclear weapons. He asked the Indian government to take recourse to the Vedic Defence Technology which will enable them to make India truly invincible. Dr Michael and Dr Susan Dillbeck, the Directors of Curriculum Development at Maharishi University of Management, summarised the different aspects of Maharishi's Unified Field Based Education and how it can be introduced in the education system of every country. Lt. Col. Gunter Chassé, a retired officer of the German air force, spoke about the Vedic Peace Corps he founded in Germany to create groups of Yogic Flyers that will create an indomitable influence of coherence in the collective consciousness and secure permanent peace. Dr Girish Varma, director of the more than 50 Maharishi Schools throughout India, spoke about the great benefits Vedic Education will bring to India and the whole world.

Maharishi Channel soon to be broadcast worldwide

The high-quality three-hour TV programme, broadcast in Hindi and English language, was perfectly prepared by the headquarters of Maharishi Vedic University in Vlodrop, Holland. Within the next few days, more satellites will be connected and more languages will be added so that the daily broadcast of the Maharishi Channel can be enjoyed by more and more countries around the globe – soon worldwide. Already for the first broadcast of Maharishi Veda Vision, several TV stations and cable television operators were linked up supplying the magnificent inaugural ceremony to millions of viewers throughout India. Many more TV stations and cable television networks are expected to join the network.

The broadcast programme will include lectures, educational programmes, and live presentations on all of the 40 areas of the Vedic Literature. The Maharishi Channel will cover the practical application of the eternal knowledge of the Veda for all areas of human life, such as health, education, economy, sciences and arts, social values, defence, and government.

The first broadcast has already awakened great interest in Vedic Knowledge and Vedic Education throughout India and other countries of Asia. With the regular daily broadcast Maharishi Veda Vision will play a vital role in re-establishing Vedic Civilisation for all mankind.
