His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi To Construct the World's Tallest Building at the Brahmasthan of India in Madhya Pradesh.

Laying of Foundation Stone November 6th 1998 in Presence of People of Good Will and Peace from Around the World.

Building Will House the World Capital of Maharishi Vedic Vishwa Prashasan 60,000 Yogic Flying Vedic Pandits to Radiate Bliss and Peace, and Create Unity in World Consciousness

On November 6th, in an internationally televised celebration, dignitaries from around the world will lay the foundation stone for the world's tallest building. The building will be constructed north-east of Jabalpur, M.P. at the Brahmasthan or centre of India, land of the Veda. The enormous structure will be 678 meters (2222 feet) high and have more than 1.8 million square meters (20 million square feet) of liveable space.

World Capital of the Maharishi Vedic Vishwa Prashasan

This tallest building of the world will be the Maharishi Vedic Vishwa Prashasan Rajadhani-World Capital of Maharishi's Global Administration through Natural Law. Maharishi has established his Vedic Vishwa Prashasan to create world peace and unity in world consciousness through the powerful technologies of Maharishi's Vedic Science, the science of consciousness, the science of total Natural Law.

The tallest building will be global centre of Vedic learning, and is being constructed in honour of the Vedic Pandits, and the Vedic heritage of India. It will be home to up to 60,000 Vedic Pandits, who through the practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying, will create coherence in world consciousness, resulting in a dramatic rise in positivity, peace and harmony in the family of nations.

In addition, the tallest building in the world will be surrounded by beautiful gardens with Yagya pavilions. Here the Pandits will perform Yagyas for individuals and for nations, which will ensure that our cosmic counterparts-the sun, moon, planets and stars-are always favourable to the health, happiness and good fortune of everyone on earth.

Building Designed According to Vastu Vidya.

The building will be structured precisely according to Vastu Vidya of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda-Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law. The building will be perfectly oriented north, south, east, west, with its entrance in the due east direction. The building will be in the shape of a giant pyramid of Vedic proportions-it will have a square base which will be 389 meters (1111 feet) on each side-equivalent to half the building's height. It will be decorated in traditional Vedic style with columns, arches and Kalashes, like a giant temple. Its proportions, placement of rooms, layout of the site, and relationship to the environment will all be exactly structured according to Vastu Vidya so that the building is most auspicious. This will ensure that the individual intelligence of the inhabitants will be naturally aligned with the cosmic intelligence that is the ruler of the universe.

The foundation stone laying is being organised by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwa Vidyalaya (Maharishi Vedic University of India), and hosted in Madhya Pradesh by Shri Mukesh Nayak, President of Maharishi Vedic Vishwa Prashasan for Madhya Pradesh, and former Minister of Higher Education of Madhya Pradesh.

It was under the leadership of Shri Mukesh Nayak that the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwa Vidyalaya was formed by unanimous Act of the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh in 1995. The foundation stone laying will be held in the presence of people of peace and good will from around the world, including dignitaries from Canada, USA, Russia, China, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, Peru, Argentina, Holland, Germany, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Maharishi will address the occasion from Holland via Maharishi Veda Vision: the Maharishi Channel-the new satellite TV channel that he founded on June 10th. .

Festivities to Be Broadcast Worldwide

Doordarshan (Indian state television) plans to broadcast the festivities throughout India. The Maharishi Channel will also broadcast the events via its satellite network to India and 26 other countries, and this will be rebroadcast via the Maharishi Open University network to almost every country in the world. Greetings on the occasion will also be extended by video from many world leaders, including His Excellency, Dr. Joaquim Alberto Chissano Rama, President of the Republic of Mozambique, who this week visited Maharishi in Holland for discussions on African development and peace.

Architects for the Tallest Building

A prominent American architectural firm, which has designed three of the tallest buildings in the world, has been working for four months on the design of the tallest building. The building will exceed the height of the present tallest building (the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia) by over 226 meters or 737 feet. The structure in Madhya Pradesh will also have the largest volume of any building in the world.

Schedule of the Festivities

The festivities will begin in New Delhi on November 4th with a reception for the dignitaries and a presentation on the tallest building by Maharishi (via satellite) and the Vedic architects and scientists at the Meridien Hotel from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. The program will continue on the 5th in Bhopal with another reception and presentation from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Gandhi Medical College Auditorium. Then on the 6th, the international dignitaries will travel to Jabalpur and then to the Brahmasthan for the foundation stone laying ceremony, which will be at 1:30 p.m.-an auspicious time selected by the Maharishi Jyotishis.
