EUROPEAN NATURAL LAW PARTY LEADERS SUMMITStatement for the pressVienna, 11 December 1998 "IDEAL EUROPE 2000"Natural Law Party leaders of EU countries hold their own summit in Vienna and launch their common manifesto for the 1999 European Parliament electionsAction plan to create a problem-free Europe for the new millennium The leaders of the Natural Law Parties of the 15 European Union countries today announced their common manifesto for Europe – a radical new document that promises to create an ideal, problem-free Europe in the new millennium. While EU heads of government attend their summit in Vienna, the Natural Law Party leaders have finalised their new manifesto at their own summit, also held in Vienna. The manifesto will form the basis of the Natural Law Parties’ campaign for the European Parliament elections next year when they plan to field candidates in all EU countries. At the press conference in Vienna, Dr Reinhard Borowitz, Leader of the Natural Law Party of Germany, said: "Everybody is aware that the EU heads of government have ground to a halt on most of key issues, and no major announcements are expected from their summit this weekend. The Natural Law Party manifesto for Europe takes a totally different approach to the issues under discussion. It offers new and proven solutions that could easily resolve the problems of Europe and make the current discussions of EU leaders completely irrelevant. We appeal to everyone to study our manifesto carefully and judge for themselves whether they want to continue with the same old failed approaches in Europe or adopt a new approach that can undoubtedly and quickly create a harmonious, prosperous, unified Europe of truly sovereign nations." Other speakers included Natural Law Party leaders Dr Geoffrey Clements (United Kingdom), Dr Lothar Krenner (Austria), Thomas Mullins (Northern Ireland), and Benoit Frappé (France). Dr Clements explained that the Natural Law Party’s new policy document for Europe brings the complete scientific knowledge of Natural Law into European politics for the first time. "Natural Law programmes will create an administration as perfect as the government of Nature, which administers the entire universe, noiselessly and without a problem," Dr Clements said. "Government is a phenomenon of knowledge. This new knowledge will bring life everywhere in alliance with Natural Law and create a disease-free, crime-free, problem-free society in Europe. Our programmes have been shown to work in hundreds of scientific studies over the past 30 years. In fact, we can prove that if our manifesto for Europe were implemented we could cut the EU budget by over two-thirds within seven years." Dr Clements pointed out that these savings would resolve two major issues being discussed by EU leaders – firstly, the argument over EU budget contributions by different member states, and secondly, the cost of enlargement, since Natural Law programmes will quickly strengthen the economies of nations applying for EU membership. Dr Lothar Krenner and the other leaders summarised some of the new approaches offered by the Natural Law Party: 1. To create a unified Europe, in which national sovereignty is no longer compromised for the sake of unity, by introducing Natural Law programmes that dramatically strengthen coherence and positivity in collective consciousness, thereby supporting the sovereign identity of member states while ensuring harmony between them on all matters of common interest. 2. To introduce a new structure of decision-making in the EU which replaces the principle of subsidiarity with the principle of putting first the sovereignty, independence, and self-sufficiency of member states. Member states will have complete freedom to decide when they want to join new treaties, and will not be forced to adopt any policy they do not like. 3. To ensure the success of EMU and create full employment in the EU by introducing Natural Law programmes to create stability in the economies of all member states and develop the full creative potential of every citizen. 4. To phase out all agricultural subsidies over seven years, while promoting a transformation to sustainable systems of organic agriculture that are fully in accord with Natural Law and provide healthy food for everyone. 5. To use structural funds more effectively by linking all aid to the implementation of Natural Law programmes that will permanently eliminate the basis of the problem. 6. To introduce foreign and defence policies that promote and maintain harmony in the whole world family of sovereign nations, particularly by maintaining on each continent a group of 7,000 experts in the Vedic technology to create coherence on world consciousness – Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying. This unique programme to maintain world peace renders obsolete the present EU debate on the framework for military alliance, including the so-called "partnership for peace". 7. To create a more efficient government in Europe and reduce the EU bureaucracy dramatically by introducing Natural Law programmes to create "Automation in Administration" – using Nature’s "principle of least action" which achieves maximum with minimum effort. Thomas Mullins concluded the news conference with a report of the recognition that the Natural Law Party of Northern Ireland had received for its role in maintaining peace during the June elections for the new Northern Ireland assembly, with the help of a coherence-creating group of Yogic Flyers. Mr Mullins had just returned from Oslo where he had been invited to attend the presentation of the Nobel Peace Prize. While this year’s peace prize was awarded to two of Northern Ireland’s political leaders, it also gave recognition to all the other leaders who had contributed to peace, and it was in this context that Mr Mullins was invited. The Natural Law Party is now active in 80 countries worldwide, and last week won a seat in the state parliament of Madhya Pradesh in India, beating the Congress Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the USA, Natural Law Party candidates also averaged more than 3% of the vote in the recent mid-term elections (1.2 million votes altogether), with some candidates receiving over 25%, an excellent showing for a third party. In just a few years the Natural Law Party has gained an estimated two million supporters in the EU, and it is the only party in Europe with a truly integrated approach across the continent. The Natural Law Party plans to field candidates for all seats in next year's EU elections. |
