'Land of 'World Peace' to Be Established in Brazil on Island of Montecristo

The first Land of World Peace will be established on the beautiful 600 acre Island of Montecristo in the Bay of All Saints, State of Bahia, Brazil, according to leaders of Maharishi's Global Administration through "Natural Law in Vlodrop, The Netherlands. The inaugural celebrations will be held this Saturday and Sunday, March 20th at the Island of World Peace and in the city of Salvador on March 21st, with dignitaries attending from around the world, including prominent scientists, civic and business leaders. International directors of Maharishi's worldwide organization will lay out the plans for building of the Maharishi World Parliament of World Peace on the island.

Members of the Maharishi World Parliament of World Peace will include government, business, and scientific leaders from all over the world who are lovers of peace, and who desire to produce everywhere that level of consciousness of the individual and society, where peace is a natural and spontaneous reality,' said Dr. Bevan Morris, President of the Council of Supreme Intelligence of Maharishi's Global Administration through Natural Law.

'This island will be the first 'Country of World Peace' with full authority on the ground of knowledge,' said Dr. Morris. 'The island will be connected with all the countries of the world for the full development of their human resources, making every country a Land of World Peace.'

Dr. Morris said that the 'lack of complete knowledge of Natural Law and lack of full development of the potential available in every human brain is the reason for all suffering and conflict at all levels from the individual to the international level of the society.

The total functioning of the brain is now available through the knowledge discovered by Professor Tony Nader, M.D., Ph.D., with the inspiration of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. founder of Maharishi's Global Administration through Natural Law. Dr. Morris said Professor Nader will be the President of the Maharishi World Parliament of World Peace.

'A peaceful state of dynamic progress is the natural state of a fully developed brain. This becomes the character of collective consciousness of a society with fully developed individuals,' Dr. Morris said.

He said that the UNO and international trade and economic organizations will continue their respectable work on the level of negotiations for a more peaceful and prosperous world. But the 'Country of World Peace' will create an effect in the world so that nations no longer desire to fight each other or harm each other.

'The Maharishi World Parliament of World Peace will provide young people throughout the world with training programmes, which have been tested by scientific research and have demonstrated the ability to actually harmonize divergent trends in the world and improve the fields of health, education, business and public administration. These young people of the world will be Ambassadors of World Peace and will travel around the world and enhance the prestige of their own nations on the international level,' Dr. Morris said.
