The launch of Maharishi College of Management and TechnologySeptember 1996 This month sees the launch of a new university-level college, Maharishi College of Management and Technology, offering the best of conventional curriculum combined with the most effective technologies to unfold the full creative potential of every student. Dr Geoffrey Clements, Vice -Chancellor, explained : " Higher education should develop higher consciousness. Maharishi College of Management and Technology uses the Transcendental Meditation programme to bring about the systematic development of higher states of consciousness for every student. This is accompanied by the growth of creativity, intelligence, and learning ability, as well as greater enjoyment and integration in life. " University of London DegreesFor 1996-97, Maharishi College will be offering tuition to prepare students for the prestigious University of London degrees, through the External Programme, in the following subjects: Unique Integrated System of EducationEvery student should feel on completing his or her university studies that not only have they gained useful and satisfying knowledge pertaining to a particular field of life, but also their consciousness has grown so that in every aspect of life they are able to express their full potential, enjoy life to the full and contribute most to the life of society. By incorporating the simple technique of Transcendental Meditation (practised for 20 minutes morning and evening) into the academic timetable, Maharishi College of Management and Technology provides every student with this invaluable element. In addition, Maharishi College of Management and Technology will be using teaching methods that enable students to gain the most from any curriculum. In every subject area, the faculty members make use of Unified Field Charts which map the hierarchies and structure of each area of knowledge and provide an integrated picture of the whole discipline at a glance. Unified Field Charts allow students to see the commonalities between different subjects of study. Interrelationships are found between areas of knowledge that are usually considered as separate and quite different in their character. This means that students feel at home with every field of knowledge. The charts also enable students to make the connection between the universal laws of nature which underlie and structure every discipline and the functioning of those same laws of nature within their own inner intelligence and lives. Every subject of study thus becomes more meaningful and relevant. Students have been found to experience a higher level of academic motivation and greater understanding of every field of study.
