MAHARISHI AYUR-VEDA COLLEGE OF NATURAL MEDICINECourses in Self-Pulse Reading for the whole populationAncient Vedic technique for maintaining good healthLecture on 26 November at Mentmore by visiting expert; course to be held February 199715 November 1996 16-hour courses in Self-Pulse Reading, a simple, systematic procedure to help maintain good health, will be starting this month in Britain for the general public. The courses will be taught by a visiting expert (Vaidya) from Maharishi Vedic University in Holland. One course will be held at Mentmore Towers over the two weekends of 8-9 and 15- 16 February (four hours on each of the four days). A special lecture to introduce the topic will be given by the visiting expert in Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health, Vaidya Hanumantha Rao, on Tuesday 26th November at 8.15pm. Pulse reading is an aspect of Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health, which includes the comprehensive system of natural health care known as Maharishi Ayur-Veda. An expert Vaidya can detect imbalances in a person's physiology by feeling the pulse for a few moments. This is possible because all influences on health - including physical, mental, environmental, and seasonal factors - are reflected in the pulse; Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health includes a comprehensive and highly sophisticated framework for interpreting or 'reading' this information. Balance in the pulse indicates good health; imbalance is associated with various stages of the development of disease. In the course on Self-Pulse Reading, participants learn how to regularly measure, by feeling their own pulse, the degree of balance or imbalance in their body. They also learn how to make simple adjustments to diet or daily routine, in order to correct the imbalances they notice in the pulse, before these give rise to disease. Prevention is better than cureDr Nicholas Argyle, consultant psychiatrist at a NHS hospital in London, says: 'This system of self-pulse reading is an excellent method for people to become more aware of whether or not their health is in balance. It is better to maintain health in balance than wait to get ill and then have to go for treatment. |
