Natural Law Party of Scotland announces manifesto and inaugurates its campaign for the Scottish Parliament elections
22 March 1999
"10-point action plan to create an ideal Scotland in the new millennium"

Speakers: Dr Diana Kras, Party Leader.
George Stidolph, Party Chairman.
Richard Johnson, Chairman of the Natural Law Party of the United Kingdom.
Thomas Mullins, Chairman of the Natural Law Party of Northern Ireland.

At this news conference, the leaders of the Natural Law Party of Scotland will announce their manifesto which will be presented to the people of Scotland during the run-up to the elections for the Scottish Parliament on 6 May.

The manifesto takes a unique approach to the key issues of the election campaign, including education, health, law and order, the use of the parliament's tax varying powers, and the question of a referendum on independence. It offers the electorate a real choice - the opportunity to support policies that will revitalise Scotland's strong sense of national purpose and national identity, in a way that will meet the aspirations of the followers of all political groups and every section of the community.

Richard Johnson is the Natural Law Party's UK Home Affairs spokesman, as well as party Chairman, and will talk about how crime can be reduced in Scotland, using cost effective and easily implemented Natural Law based programmes.

Thomas Mullins has been actively involved in the peace process in Northern Ireland for the past five years, both nationally and internationally. When the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded in Oslo to David Trimble and John Hume, it also gave recognition to all the leaders who had contributed to the peace process. Mr Mullins attended the event by invitation in this context. He will talk about how Natural Law policies enable different cultural communities to be integrated into a harmonious whole, and the part that this could play in the Council of the Isles.

The conference speakers will be available for interviews.
