Campaign to create peace, not war, in Kosovo75 April 1999 As NATO doggedly pursues its military action and Europe edges towards all-out war, the Natural Law Party is doing its utmost to create peace in Yugoslavia. It is helping to establish an international 'coherence-creating' group of experts in Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in order to have a direct influence on the conflict. This project will begin on 18th April and will last for one to three months. The aim is to bring the number to 1,000 as quickly as possible, and then after one or two months the Yogic Flyers will be joined by 2,000 more from India, according to Jadranko Miklec, organiser of the project in Croatia. Supporters of the Natural Law Party in Britain are donating finances to allow more Croatians to join the project. Mr Miklec is appealing to the authorities in Croatia for additional support for the project, which will protect the nation and help to bring peace to the region. During the past 25 years over 40 scientific research studies have shown that when 1 % of the population of any town or country practise Transcendental Meditation, or when the square root of 1% practise Yogic Flying in a group, there is an increase in coherence in the entire society, seen in dramatic improvements such as reductions in crime and other negative trends, and reduced international conflict. The Natural Law Party is appealing to wealthy people worldwide to support the establishment of a coherence-creating group. It is calling upon young people and the unemployed to learn Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programme including Yogic Flying, to develop their total potential of mind and body for a happy, peaceful and fulfilled life. It is encouraging the people who already practise Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying to do so together in a group, in order to have a greater effect of coherence. Dr Geoffrey Clements, leader of the Natural Law Party in the UK, said:'What has happened to Yugoslavia could happen to any country at any time. NATO has set a terrifying example to the world: It has in effect legitimised the principle of foreign policy through violent attack. If you don't like a country and they won't obey you, then you just bomb them and destroy them. 'Our message to the people of Great Britain is: Take recourse to Natural Law and take advantage of the existence of proven technologies of peace. Do not become subject to the destructive influence that our government is creating in the world. Otherwise the destroyer could become the destroyed - Britain could itself become the target of bombs; and the people, the wealth, and the life of the nation would be scattered to the winds. The government and the military would not be able to defend the country from attack.' Dr Clements referred to an advertisement placed by Maharishi Global Development Fund in the Financial Times (10th April), calling upon the wealthy to save the situation. The advertisement invites the wealthy to create an Endowment Fund for Perpetual World Peace, to prevent terrorism and eliminate the fear of destruction. 'This is not only charity,' the text reads, 'it is self-insurance.' Dr Clements said:'This is an approach to peace not through talking or bombing, but by radiating peace from the level of infinite peace in the unbounded ocean of consciousness within everyone.' |
