Dr Geoffrey Clements, leader of the Natural Law Party, today announced that he would be standing in the forthcoming elections for the post of Mayor of London. Dr Clements is already the Natural Law Party's lead candidate on the London regional list for the European Parliament elections.Dr Clements, 50, who lives in London and has a PhD in physics, has been the leader of the Natural Law Party since its inception in 1992.

He has decided to stand for Mayor because in all the controversy surrounding the election the main issue is being ignored: what can the candidates offer that will really improve the quality of life, health, and prosperity of the capital city and its residents. "Unless the Natural Law Party comes forward, the voters are being offered nothing new: the same old parties are offering the same old policies," Dr Clements says.

Dr Clements added that the Natural Law Party is already doing everything it can to improve the situation in the Balkans, including helping to support a group of Yogic Flyers in Dubrovnik which is already starting to have a calming influence in the region. Reconstructing the built environment In addition, we would rebuild the metropolitan area using principles of building in accord with Natural Law. The Vedic system of architecture known as Maharishi Sthapatya Veda gives comprehensive guidelines for building and city planning, especially relating to the orientation of buildings, to ensure a harmonious, stress-free environment for healthy living and working in the capital. At present the incorrect orientation of most of our major government buildings, including 10 Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament, contributes greatly to the unfortunate and dangerous decisions that the British government is now making," DrClements said.

He adds: "One of the commitments in our European manifesto is to eliminate waste and corruption in the EU. These same programmes need to be applied in London. The Natural Law Party will create simpler administration, and our policies will bring enormous financial savings." For the past 20 years Dr Clements has been presenting the scientifically validated programmes that the Natural Law Party is now promoting, to leaders of government, education, health etc. These programmes can play a vital role in London, he says. The United Kingdom was the first country where the Natural Law Party was formed, with Dr Clements as the first leader. The Party is now active in over 80 countries.

The Party is fielding a full slate of 85 candidates in the UK for the European Parliament elections. Its Party Election Broadcast, which is being shown on national TV channels on Monday 31 May, gives a simple and clear explanation of how Yogic Flying can create peace in Yugoslavia.  During the seven days following the broadcast, Dr Clements and other leading party candidates will be giving a series of press conferences around the country on the party's solution to the Yugoslavia conflict, accompanied by demonstrations of Yogic Flying. Venues will include Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Norwich, Bristol, Southampton, and of course London.
