Natural Law Party statement following press conference

The Natural Law Party today promised a peaceful, healthy, united and prosperous Europe, with every citizen achieving his or her full potential, if the Natural Law Party's programmes are followed.

At the same time the Party warned that without the programmes of Natural Law there would be a continuance of the barbarianism that has been a feature of Europe in the past few years, both from the side of Yugoslavia and from Nato itself.

Noting that the conflict in Yugoslavia was still raging, with the potential for other countries becoming involved (in the way that China nearly became drawn into the conflict one month ago), Dr Clements insisted that violence can never create peace. The bombing of Yugoslavia, or a diplomatic solution imposed through the threat of force, will only add to the tensions in the region - the same tensions that caused violence to flare up in the first place.

"The coherence-creating programme of the Natural Law Party is the key to creating peace. Throughout nature we find that peace equates with coherence. There are over 40 studies now that show that groups of experts in the technologies of Natural Law - Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying - create peace in society. Results from published research studies include reduced crime, violence, and even war conflict."

Dr Clements quoted a study published this month in the peer-reviewed journal Social Indicators Research analysing the results of a successful experiment conducted in August -September 1993 which reduced crime in Washington DC by 23% using the technologies of Natural Law, Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying.

"This is the approach that should be used in Yugoslavia, not bombing. The Natural Law Party has called on Nato to desist from bombing and to establish a group of 10,000 Yogic Flyers in the region, to create stable peace."

In health, education and crime, traditional approaches are failing. The government has to lower A level standards in order to give the impression that exam results are improving. The government has to manipulate health statistics to make it appear that hospital waiting lists are improving. Is that what people want? Custody of the future of the nation and Europe is in the hands of those who manipulate the results in order to create the impression that something valuable is being done. Surely it is better to choose a party whose programmes remove the underlying problems.

Natural Law Party's proven health programmes can cut sickness by half in three years, and develop the full creative genius of every child and adult.

Dr Clements criticised the government's policy on GM crops as being "not in favour of health and safety". He pointed out that since 1996 the party had consistently called for a complete ban on GM foods and crops. "Now, three years later, people are coming round to our view. Don't wait three years before you decide that we were right about Yugoslavia, and other issues. Give us your vote now."
