The Natural Law Party has warned that the efforts to create peace in Yugoslavia will not meet with long-term success unless they include a provision to use the technologies of Natural Law to create coherence in collective consciousness, rather than just relying on diplomacy backed by a military presence and the threat of further force.

The leader of the Natural Law Party, Dr Geoffrey Clements, said: "The history of the world is the history of broken treaties and failed diplomacy. Since the UN was formed in 1945 to end wars, there have been more than 160 major wars. Any peace that Nato achieves now will leave a legacy of tension and hatred which will inevitably burst out again in the future."

Last month the Natural Law Party offered its peace-creating technology to Nato and its member governments, calling on them to establish a group of 10,000 experts in the technologies of Natural Law – Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying – in the region, in order to create peace and avoid further bloodshed.

"More than 42 studies conducted during the past 25 years – including one study published this month – have verified the power of this technology to remove the causes of conflict in society," Dr Clements said. "The Natural Law Party is offering a scientifically proven, easy-to-implement, low-cost programme to create and maintain peace and maintain it on a long-term basis. Without this programme, peace will not be secure."
