His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has launched the next major phase of activity for his worldwide Transcendental Meditation organisation-a landmark step in the concrete realisation of his 50 years of global efforts to "bring enlightenment to every individual and peace perpetual to the world".

Beginning Thursday, 14 June, World Peace Parliaments will be held on a daily basis all over the world-at the local, regional, national and global levels. The Parliaments are being held under the auspices of the Global Country of World Peace and its first sovereign ruler, His Majesty King Nader Raam.

"For there to be world peace, there must be peace on the level of the family, community, the nation, and the world," said Maharishi, who founded the Global Country of World Peace in October 2000. "These local Parliaments of World Peace will be the units of the Global Parliament of World Peace."

Administration through Education

According to Dr. Hagelin, the Minister of Science and Technology, "The World Peace Parliaments will serve as the functioning government of the Global Country of World Peace at the local level."

"These Parliaments will offer profound knowledge and proven, prevention-oriented solutions, giving every nation the means to effectively prevent societal problems, and enjoy 'Automation in Administration'," Dr. Hagelin said. "This will be accomplished primarily through education-'Administration through Education'."

His Majesty King Nader Raam is the world's foremost neuroscientist, who discovered that the human physiology is a direct, material reflection of the field of consciousness, the field traditionally known as Veda, which in the language of modern physics is the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature. King Nader Raam's discovery shows that, through proper education, every individual can have direct access to the Unified Field-the source of all the laws of nature governing the Universe-in the simplest form of human awareness.

"Access to this Unified Field brings mastery over Natural Law," His Majesty said. "Ideal education-Vedic Education-delivers the fruit of all knowledge: mistake-free, problem-free life-action fully in accord with all the Laws of Nature," King Nader Raam explained. "We are founding ideal universities and educational institutions all over the world, to achieve Automation in Administration-'Administration through Education'."

Every nation invited to become a member of the Global Country of World Peace

King Nader Raam invited heads of state from around the world to become members of the Global Country of World Peace. "Each member nation will receive the scientific knowledge and practical, proven programs to solve and prevent societal problems, to eradicate poverty, strengthen the economy, and achieve national invincibility," His Majesty said.

Daily broadcasts

Each day, the Global Parliaments of World Peace will be broadcast worldwide over the Maharishi Channel and the Maharishi Open University global satellite network, connecting to Parliaments of World Peace held locally throughout the world. Civic and community leaders-mayors, doctors, educators, and lawyers-have been invited to participate.

"The purpose of the Parliaments of World Peace is not to compete with, or replace, the current functions of government, whose primary focus has been coping with the nation's critical problems," Dr. Hagelin said. "The purpose of the Parliaments of World Peace will be to prevent problems from arising. We will make the administration of every nation simple."

Schedule of broadcasts: The daily World Peace Parliament broadcasts will be one-hour in length, beginning Thursday, 14 June 2001. (Thursday's inaugural broadcast will be longer-approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes-and will include remarks by Maharishi.)

- Inaugural broadcast-The broadcast of the inaugural session of the World Peace Parliament on Thursday, 14 June, will be from 8:00-10:40 am (British Summer Time) on the Maharishi Open University global satellite network (free to air in the UK on the Hotbird 3 satellite at 13 degrees East, digital broadcast, frequency 12.475 GHz, FEC 3/4, symbol rate 27500, polarization horizontal).

- Daily broadcasts-The regular daily broadcasts of the World Peace Parliament will be from 9:00-10:00 am (British Summer Time) on the Maharishi Open University satellite network.
